What is it?
Merino is one of the world’s oldest breeds of sheep. They live in tough conditions in the southern alps of New Zealand: from +35 degrees Celsius in summer to -20 degrees Celsius in winter.
At Isadore, we love Merino wool. It is the base of most of our jerseys, baselayers, jackets.
You might perceive it as a warming material,
but Merino wool is perfect for summer, too.
Here’s why:
Merino is an active fibre, able to react to the temperature changes in your body. When you are cold, it warms you; when you sweat — it cools you down, preventing overheating.

Merino is a natural sun protector, high in UPF factor
Wicks Moisture
Merino can absorb moisture up to 30% of its own weight. As you start sweating, it transfers the excess moisture away from your body, keeping you cooled and dry.
Odour-resistant and antibacterial
Thanks to the fast drying and antibacterial properties, Merino fabric stays odorless for a long time. That means less washing, longer lifespan.
